Dec. 25 = Depressing

ok - fine, here is the post holiday post that you have all been clamouring for.

is it just me or is christmas day is the most depresssing day of the year? all the excitement, the crazy schedule, the stress of the holiday it all comes to a crashing halt...and what are you left with? besides lots and lots of turkey?

don't get me wrong - i love christmas, it is my favourite holiday and the best time of the year. all of your friends and coworkers want to get together and party, you get to tell your friends and family how much you care, and help others in need, (with all the toy drives and food drives) and you get to drink lots of liquor and eat chocolate and cookies and other yummy treats by the pound. what's not to love?

but then on christmas day, after you've opened your presents...you start to feel a bit of a lull. and then the madness of preparing christmas lunch or dinner hits and you're back at full speed...but after dinner is served and you've stuffed yourself full...then what? you have a few drinks...bid the guests farewell...and then...nothing. nothing to look forward too. sure you have a new book to read or dvd's to watch or new jewlery to show off. but otherwise...everything is back to normal...actually worse than normal. your life could not seem more mundane or boring after the insanity of the previous few weeks.

and that is why december 25th is so depressing to me. i know what's coming...i know how i'm going to feel once the christmas dinner dishes have been washed. and it's not fun.

so i've been in that post christmas lull for the past few days...and this year, i actually have to work on these few days between christmas and new years. which is why you have not heard from me. but fear not - i'll be back soon with my year in review.

me.

I kinda agree with you Lex. There's something weird about it all. I just know one thing - I'm not hosting/cooking Christmas dinner in 2007. AMEN
